Fan LOVES the hose!!
Fan loves water!! It has become a 'good' thing as it is a great way to 'clean' her back up after she rolls in the dust. I have her antics on video but sadly I can't get my upload computer connection to work so yesterday I decided to try to get photos while holding the hose.
She bites at the stream of water....

I mentioned in my last post about those dogs that love to saturate themselves in the water then roll in the dirt.

Oh YEAH Fan loves to do that!!!
This is one of the 'many' reasons why I adore smooth Border Collies. Their coats just dry and the dirt flakes right off!

She is also one that is easy to 'wash' so to speak.... she attacks the hose when you begin to spray!! (I wish I could upload videos ... I have a great video of her attacking the hose and taking her own bath).

Indy made it back to Indiana!!
Indy is a Imp. Miss x ISDS Blue puppy. She is one that was sold to GA early on and due to a family crisis they were unable to keep her. So with no fault to Indy she has made her way back to Indiana (with a stop at an AKC dog show in Perry, GA a night in Shelbyville, KY and the few days at the Bluegrass in Lexington KY!- thanks to all that helped her on her way home!!!)
This is my favorite shot of her so far!! (It's my background photo on the computer right now!)

Indy needs a new home.
Indy is a female puppy from our imported Miss x Blue (still residing in Scotland). She has gone to a loving, caring home that really feels it best they no longer keep her. Their family situation has changed drastically and with no fault on the part of Indy, she just won't get as much attention as they had hoped.
Indy is used to being around their other dogs (old and near her age), and cats. The farm she is on currently also has goats and horses on it. She has been raised in the house and is a very bold, friendly and driven puppy.
She is now about 16 weeks old, been kept up to date on her vaccinations, and vet visits.
Below are some photos of Indy when she still was with me, and one of her in her new home.

The "Water gene"??
When Miss first arrived from Scotland, she was pretty stressed but easy to handle. She was quiet as a mouse in a crate and good as gold over all.
Well now that she has had her litter of pups, and become quite comfortable living here with us, she has certainly shown us a few 'interesting' tricks!!
Miss LOVES water!! and this is not just outside in the puddles, and outside pools. She loves water inside too!! She now digs in the water buckets in the puppy pen and crate as well!!
If I give her a water bucket in her crate, it only takes a few minutes and she has a emtpy water bucket and is standing in a pool of water!!
She dumps the buckets outside (rain or shine, sleet or snow... not to mention frozen ground). With our frozen weather she has made an ice skating rink where my buckets normally sit. (and yes I do get the empty bucket before it freezes to the ground and is stuck!!).
Now that his 'habit' has come out, her children have decided this is a GREAT game!! They can't keep water in their bucket either!!
A night or two ago, I hear this terrible banging in the puppy room, I go running in there thinking 'oh no' a puppy is stuck!! Oh NO!! The Miss pups are all standing at the edge of their pen looking at me SOAKED !!

Pupdate Miss x Blue
Things got very busy so I didn't get a chance to blog about the pups and they are very disappointed in me for that.
Yesterday (Thurs) the Miss pups took their first road trip!! We made the trip north to Delphi IN where my favorite eye specialist was doing an eye clinic. They all will pass CERF with flying colors!!!
The pups were not sure about the trip in the car at first, like typical pups they whined and cried about it. But then settled right down and were little troopers. They did get upset stomachs once but not much really when one considers the length of the ride!!
After their 'outing' to the vet's office, we continued on by stopping by my mother's retail store (where I work when I can get away from the dogs). They napped in the car like good little pups while I helped sell a few items for your store and were just great little passengers by the end of the day.
Miss was happy to see them when they arrived too!!

Pupdate Miss x Blue
Monday was a terribly cold day for us!! The temps over the weekend were in the 40s (still windy but not freezing) by the time I got up on Monday morning, we were below freezing and it was a mere 16 degrees outside. NO THANK YOU!! I'll do what I need to do outside and spend the 'day' inside!!
So we decided to put a turkey breast that had been thawing in the fridge for a few days in the oven, make deviled eggs and of course PLAY with the pups!!!
Since most of the action for the day was going on in the kitchen, the Miss pups got gated into the kitchen and were allowed to be underfoot with us while we enjoyed the warm and sweet smells of the turkey in the oven.
They did think the rest of the 'house' should be included on occasion but for the most part enjoyed the romp in the kitchen.
I really try to make sure the pups are used to different footings, and odd things to climb on, so I added my 'toy dog' grooming table (it fits on top of a crate to groom the dog ringside) to the floor so they had something to crawl up on and jump a tiny way down. Plus it has a rubber surface they have not walked on yet.
No problem for these guys!! They loved the extra 'floor obstacle"!!
The little black and white girl has the cutest set of ears that are 'just about' to stand up!!
Tug with the 'fuzzy' toy was a favorite game for these guys. The merle boy is not as big as his tri sister ... yet he sure was able to hold his own with her when it came to the toy!
All four would get in on it ... but I was never able to get a clear photo of all four with pulling on it.
The 'tri' girls in a stand off of who would move first....
Playing tag and chase back and forth thru the kitchen was certainly on the top of the list for games too.
Because they were going to be underfoot most of the day, I also went ahead with their first Parvo vaccination. This disease scares me greatly so we vaccinate for it early. I also like to watch my pups closely after all vaccinations to make sure no reactions occur. They handled the 'poke' quite well (not a peep from a one of them)... but afterwards could be seen itching like "huh...what was that". No reactions to their vaccination and all just keep on 'truckin'.

Our little black and white girl likes to be the 'diva' and wear her toys ;-)
Frequent naps were also included in the day in the kitchen....
Black Tri girl #2 down for the count!
Tri girl #1 decided a comfy place for her naps was on top of our pile of shoes!!!
The little merle boy would just flop over and sleep right in the middle of the room.
I think Miss was grateful for the time away from her 'kids' too. I checked on her a few times thru the day, and she was napping upside down in a crate without a care in the world.

I also was able to get a bit of video of them romping thru the kitchen... which hopefully will be posted to YouTube sooner or later!!
